Knowledge That Traveled (1st Edt.)

Hurray! “Knowledge That Travels” has reached 1000 brain hits (visitors) today! To commemorate this, I’ve gone back to all published posts and picked out the most interesting bits and pieces. Here they are:

1. The largest ever found skeleton of Tyrannosaurus Rex (now exhibited in Chicago) was discovered in South Dakota, which is also home to the largest mountain carving, Mt. Rushmore.

2. The Germans (especially in the Alpine region) have a liking to practicing a “sport” that’s comparable to thumb wrestling – a.k.a. Fingerhakeln!

3. Michigan is in fact famous for its Wine Country. Go figure!

4. Sweden not only likes furniture and home decor, but they also loves crayfish, especially during the last days of summer.

5. Hawaii celebrated 50 years of U.S. statehood this year.

7. Spain celebrated its annual world’s biggest food throwing festival. Produce of choice? Tomatoes!

8. In Las Vegas, building sometimes look a lot closer than they really are. It pays to take a cab here and there …

9. Ireland is for lovers and is host to Europe’s largest Matchmaking Festival.

10. Goulash, a beef stew delight, originated in Szolnok, Hungary.

Wow, we’ve really been around the world in only 2 months! Like what you’ve read so far? Follow us as we continue to roam the world and distribute knowledge that travels …
